The Ensemble in a few words

The Ensemble Nouvelles Portées was founded in December 2014 by Marc Hajjar (http://marchajjar.com ) and Victor Jacob (https://victorjacob.fr ) . From the friendship of these two young conductors, graduates of the Masters in Conducting at the Royal Academy of Music in London, came the idea of a unique ensemble, whose artistic direction they share.

Their shared vision is rooted in the development of young musical talent, trained at the finest French and European conservatoires. At the heart of the orchestra's twofold ambition is also the promotion of new works. The aim, for instrumentalists and conductors alike, is to bring these musical works to the attention of the public, to astonish the initiated and convert the uninitiated.

Built on a dual artistic and sonic vision of the orchestra and the repertoire, the ensemble is now proposing "L'Orchestre à Votre Portée", a multi-format concert including an important interactive section with the audience, focusing on the orchestra and the role of the conductor and led by the two artistic directors. For its first edition in Paris, the concert includes a commission from Karol Beffa written for two conductors.

The Ensemble Nouvelles Portées has already successfully developed similar projects in smaller versions, whether at the Festival de Saint-Denis in 2020, or at the Festival International de Musique de Besançon Franche-Comté in 2021. During this one the commented concert was focused on the conductor, as a mirror of the Besançon International Competition for Young Conductors, taking place during the same moment.
